Will compressing reduce the quality visibly?
At 75–85 % JPEG quality most product photos are indistinguishable from the original on screen. Below 60 % you may see artefacts in smooth gradients.
Why did my PNG get bigger as PNG?
PNG is lossless; the quality slider has no effect on it. Convert to JPG or WebP for photos, keep PNG for graphics with flat colours.
Is EXIF data kept?
No. Re-encoding strips metadata (camera model, GPS), which also removes private location data from photos.
